NIH through NIDA solicits the research and development of digital markers for detection of marijuana intoxication and cognitive impairmentIn this project the Contractor will develop and clinically validate a technology that indirectly tests retinal ganglion cell functionThe sensory psychomotor signal in the smartphone application named IMMAD is a visual field test using a small square with stripes of low spatial frequency alternating at a high temporal frequencyhaving variable contrast and being flashed in one of nineteen regions in the central forty degrees of the visual fieldThe smartphone is set in a virtual reality goggle system to present the test at optical infinity and to eliminate environmental variables such as glare and reflectionThe Contractor will test it on participants who are using real world marijuana and validateIMMAD s sensitivity and refine the specificity to functional impairment with acute marijuana use
