AbstractEnthought proposes to wrap a suite of advanced electromagnetics algorithms (developed under 6.1 ARO support at Duke University) in a graphical user interface (GUI) that simplifies their use and allows users to access and control the GUI and the underlying algorithms through a scripting interface. The Phase II effort will apply lessons learned from the Phase I prototype to develop a commercial application using the Envisage application framework and Chaco plotting library, which are under development at Enthought. The algorithms to be included are Multi-Level Fast Multipole Algorithm (MLFMA), Method of Moment (MoM), and "composite MLFMA", which works with multiple target meshes. Enthought's team of electromagnetics experts, human-computer interface (HCI) specialists, technical writers, and computer scientists will integrate state-of-the-art 2-D and 3-D visualization techniques with best practices in GUI design to deliver an application that supports the aggressive schedule for insertion into the Future Combat Systems for the Objective Force.
