Abstract
The proposed effort aims to develop a modular software tool based on data-driven reduced order modeling (ROM) techniques for accurate and rapid load analysis using data from CFD and wind tunnel tests to guide design of experiments (DoE) and expedite air and missile system development. The salient aspects of the proposed solution are: (1) mathematically formal data-driven ROMs to enable efficient data analysis; (2) novel data fusion/model updating to combine CFD and wind tunnel data to eliminate data duplication and enhance prediction accuracy; (3) adaptive sampling strategy to intelligently determine important regions in multidimensional flight parameter space to inform data collection; and (4) modular software framework to streamline data analysis and visualization processes. In the proposed effort, key components, including a data-driven ROM module, a data fusion module, an adaptive sampling engine, and a model verification and prediction module will be developed and optimized. The data-driven DoE technology will be demonstrated via multiple case studies of Army interest, in which load data will be analyzed using the developed software and its performance (e.g., accuracy, speed, reliability, and integrability) will be assessed. The software will be integrated with Army-designated CFD and wind tunnel test environment to automate the entire workflow.
