Research Institution
Propel will undertake research efforts to investigate seamless knitting for U.S. Navy knitwear as compared to cut and sew assembly. Propel will develop initial concepts and swatches and evaluate their technical feasibility, comparing promising concept to traditionally sewn seams using a variety of internationally recognised standards and test methods. Propel will also develop a design brief and concept for a seamlessly knitted garment intended for Sailors. The planned research work will provide the U.S. Navy with the decision tools to select the seamless technology and implement transition in order to lower cost and provide more comfortable and higher performance knitwear for Sailors.
