Cyan Systems has developed a High Definition Small Arms Sensor (HDSAS) technology using a compact sensor head and improved optics designs based on high performance IRFPAs and compact camera modules. The sensors outstanding resolution is several times better than competing large pixel cooled IR sensors on the market and enables the ability to see small arm bullets during flight, as well as other key marksman/shooter features at distances of 1 km or more. This HDSAS Phase II proposal provides revolutionary compactness and performance to enable the detection of Small Arms and long range IR surveillance and intelligence capabilities for increased situational awareness. The critical capability to detect small fast moving rifle and handgun signatures has been demonstrated with demval electronics in the HFI Phase I.
