Abstract
Development of ultra-low power electronic hardware that takes two image videostreams, one for intensified imagery, one for thermal IR imagery and outputsfused video imagery in real-time. The computational architecture is based uponan efficient synergy between both algorithm and hardware design.Dual mode visible/thermal IR imagery is becoming more common for exploitingcomplementary phenomenology. Modular low-power image fusion electronics willenable mobile applications of this for the dismounted soldier including situationalawareness driver vision enhancment, search and rescue, and law enforcement.
