SIMETRIs effort to design, develop, and commercialize the Joint Articulation and Reduction Simulator (JAARS) integrates existing commercial manikin technology, presents multiple dislocation scenarios, and makes use of a modular design that includes Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and 3D printed components, with embedded sensors to provide student performance feedback as well as consumable expenditure data. During Phase I, the JAARS prototype developed was comprised of a partial body manikin with shoulder dislocation that could be reduced using the Cunningham method. In the proposed Phase II, SIMETRI will refine the Phase I prototype based on the Phase I User Assessment findings, and expand the scope to a commercially-ready reduction simulator that includes additional shoulder, elbow, and finger/hand reduction techniques. The JAARS Phase II simulator will operate as a standalone Part Task Trainer as well as be integrated into third party manikins and have AMM interoperability.
