Abstract
US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) is in the midst of a data revolution. The command would traditionally collect data from classified and custom sensors and fill in the gaps with publicly available information (PAI).Now the command is reversing the process to begin with PAI and fill in the gaps with information from classified channels.PAI includes a wealth of timely information from news, blogs, forums, social media platforms, knowledge bases, and more.Although more information is available to the public than ever before, the quality of the data is often an obstacle to providing actionable intelligence. Our goal in Phase I is to assess the feasibility of integrating and extending proven Knowledge Management technology with Human-Machine Teaming (HMT) to build the next generation Knowledge Graph for USSOCOM.HMT, the collaboration between operators and algorithms, is critical to providing quality information to the Knowledge Graph while improving the information extraction, matching, and fusion models required to automate the process. In addition to Knowledge Management and HMT technology, the feasibility study will assess the capability of our proposed solution to provide a distributed, resilient, enterprise Knowledge Graph with the ability to provision both data and algorithms to the tactical edge.
