In this proposal, CompRex, LLC (“CompRex”) seeks to realize a transformational and disruptive advancement in heat exchange technology for high temperature and high pressure applications through 1) the use of advanced metal and ceramic composite material, 2) development of a new simplified manufacturing approach, and 3) optimization of heat exchanger design to maximize the performance benefits of the new material and cost savings of the new manufacturing process. The project will be staged to first prove feasibility of these proposed innovations and then demonstrate increasingly more complex and larger-scale prototypes. Successful completion of this project will allow CompRex to provide a break-through heat exchange solution that can not only help realize the efficiency improvements of next generation power cycles but also have performance and cost benefits for a broad array of applications, including transportation, aerospace, and oil/gas/petrochemicals.
