Research Institution
FastVDO LLC will research and develop advanced mathematical algorithms for electro-optical and infrared sensor-fusion based target recognition. We will further investigate the value of acoustic sensor ATR and information fusion with thevideo sensors. The objective is to develop a helmet-mounted sensor-fusion ATR system. The suite of algorithms developed on this contract will exploit a variety of advances in the fields of signal decompositions, fusion algorithms, shape filters, activity measures, and neural net classifiers to achieve significant performance enhancements over traditional approaches. The new algorithms will be designed for efficient real-time execution on adaptive computers/DSPs in the Phase II effort.improved situation awareness for dismounted soldier
