Abstract
A truly robust method for measuring the fullness of a collapsible bladder canteen based on induction is proposed. The theory is first developed, and then a highly realistic set of quantitative experiments are performed to characterize the real phenomenology. It is found that the proposed method provides an extremely robust method that stands up to several additional abusive follow-on experiments that try, but fail, to "break it". The method is eminently produceable with off the shelf parts and circuits, will run well over a year on a simple watch battery and literally meets all the solicitiation requirements with margin to spare.
