Abstract
A RESEARCH PROGRAM IS PROPOSED TO DEMONSTRATE THE FEASIBILITY OF A COMPANY PROPRIETARY LIGHTWEIGHT, COMPACT SOUND SOURCE CONCEPT TO GENERATE THE HIGH INTENSITY, HIGH FREQUENCY CONTROLLED SOUND PRESSURES REQUIRED IN EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATIONS OF COMBUSTION INSTABILITY IN LIQUID ROCKET ENGINES. THE PROPOSED WORK PLAN IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PRINCIPAL PARTS. THE FIRST IS TO SELECT THE MOST PROMISING DESIGN. THE SECOND IS TO BUILD A WORKING PROTOTYPE OF THE DESIGN. THE THIRD IS TO CONDUCT BASIC TESTS TO VERIFY THE FEASIBILITY OF THE DESIGN.
