Abstract
THE ELIMINATION OF FERRITE-BASED ISOLATEROR CIRCULATOR-LIKE COMPONENTS FROM ACTIVE-APERTURE PHASED ARRAY SURVEILLANCE RADAR SYSTEMS IS DESIRABLE. THE PRESENCE OF SUCH COMPONENTS CONFLICTS WITH THE CONCEPT OF MICROWAVE MONOLITHIC INTEGRATED CIRCUIT CONCEPTS AND INCREASES THEIR COST, SIZE, AND WEIGHT. IN THIS PROPOSAL TWO DISTINCT AND FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT APPROACHES ARE PRESENTED AND COMPARED. THE POTENTIAL APPLICATION OF THESE CIRCUITS TO MODULE TECHNOLOGY ARE DISCUSSED.
