Abstract
Small serpentine robots currently under development by programs such as MDMR create a direct need for a miniature visualization system that can provide depth information. Light detection and ranging (LIDAR) is a suitable technology that may be adapted to fill this need. Honeybee Robotics proposes to develop a miniature LIDAR system for use in serpentine robots.
