Abstract
HUNTSVILLE SCIENCES CORPORATION PROPOSES TO DEVELOP A NEW THERMAL ANALYSIS CODE WHICH WILL BE THE BASELINE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF THERMAL ANALYZERS. THE CODE WILL EMLLOY MODERN, ACCURATE, EFFICIENT, AND PROVEN COMPUTATIONAL METHODS WHICH ARE CURRENTLY BEING USED SUCCESSFULLY IN THE COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS (CFD) COMMUNITY. THE PROPOSED FINITE-ELEMENT THERMAL ANALYZER WILL SOLVE THE NON-LINEAR PARTIAL DIFFERENTIAL HEAT CONDUCTION EQUATION FOR NON-HOMOGENEOUS AND ANISOTROPIC MATERIALS AND WILL DETERMINETHE TRANSIENT AND STEADY-STATE THERMAL CHARACTERISTICS FOR STRUCTURES OF ARBITRARY SHAPE AND MATERIAL COMPOSITION. THE USER WILL INPUT POINTS AND SURFACES TO DESCRIBE THE STRUCTURE BEING MODELED. THE CODE WILL THEN AUTOMATICALLY GENERATE THE GEOMETRY AND ELEMENT MESH FOR THE THERMAL COMPUTATIONAL DOMAIN OF THE STRUCTURE. MODERN AND EFFICIENT GRAPHICS SOFTWARE, THAT WILL BE INSTALLED ON AN IRIS ENGINEERING WORKSTATION ALONG WITH THE PROPOSED CODE, WILL MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE USER TO EXAMINE AND CHECK THE INPUT GEOMETRY PRIOR TO SUBMITTING THE THERMAL CONDUCTION RUN. INPUT DATA FROM ENVIRONMENT CODES WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY LOADED INTO THIS CODE AND THE RESULTING OUTPUT DATA WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DOWN-LOADED TO STRESS ANALYSIS CODES. THE ENTIRE PROCEDURE WILL BE FULLY INTERACTIVE FOR USER-FRIENDLY OPERATION.
