Abstract

SA Photonics is pleased to propose our EagleEye II, (Facial Identification) FID capable, 5-inch gimbal suitable for Common Launch Tube (CLT)-compatible Small Unmanned Aircraft System (SUAS) platforms. EagleEye II provides simultaneous FID imaging, wide field of view (WFOV) video, and accurate CAT I (4 meter Circular Error, CE90) geo coordinates from 1500 feet in the presence of wind disturbances, SUAS internal vibrations, and large angle SUAS maneuvering. A multi-mode video auto-tracker provides automatic target detection and tracking using either or both imaging streams. Fitting the multiple high-performance sensor systems in the small SWaP-C EagleEye II gimbal presents significant technical challenges. EagleEye II overcomes these challenges through program specific innovations and by leveraging algorithms, software, electronics, and mechanism technologies developed on previous and ongoing SA Photonics gimbal efforts to provide a low-risk EagleEye II solution.
