Abstract

To start the feasibility of creating and to scope a Pacific Air Forces Dev Lab that will function as a PACAF-Private partnership to develop and deploy applications rapidly through a collaborative, agile process. The goal of phase 1 is to lay the groundwork for creating a sustainable software development practice at PACAF, though a 15th Wg initiative. Focusing on the foundation will ensure the success of the program by defining and standardizing a software development process. The process includes determining; what agile methodology to use, the creation of a DevOps process, standing up a prototype/MVP for a DevOps platform, and the determining feasibility and scope for a paired programming practice. These process and tools will ultimately help transition airmen and put them side-by-side with industry experts to train and become the not only the Subject Matter Experts on Air Force operations but also software developers.
