Abstract
FOR INCREASED TURBINE ENGINE PERFORMANCE HIGHER ROTOR SPEED AND COMPRESSION RATIOS ARE REQUIRED. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO REDUCE THE BLADE STRESSES ASSOCIATED WITH INCREASED ROTOR SPEEDS AND COMPRESSION RATIOS. A MAGNETIC SYSTEM APPROACH WILL BE INVESTIGATED. DETAILED MECHANICAL, MAGNETIC, AND THERMAL ANALYSES WILL BE PERFORMED TO DETERMINE FEASIBILITY.
