Abstract
The proposed effort will build upon the achievements of a Phase II SBIR program as well as a subsequent Phase III program, to test, validate and enhance 3BSM torque estimation and lifing algorithms and there by assist NAVAIR in meeting the Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) as well as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) initiatives for the JSF. The proposed tasks will build upon the existing lifing algorithm development, available test-stand data, and torque estimation efforts to further support transition of the SBIR-developed technology to on-board implementation. The testing, validation, tuning, and robust algorithm design activities contained within the work scope of this program will directly result in improved life usage prediction accuracy and hence will reduce operational risks and costs. Interactive graphical tools for tracking component usage throughout the life of a component are envisioned to assist in further refinement to component life usage algorithms that will be critical to effective CBM strategy.
