Abstract
Infinia Corporation proposes a demonstration of an operable lightweight Stirling Convertor Assembly (SCA) coupled to a JP-8 burner, which delivers both 2.5 kWe at 28VDC and 8.5 kWt of usable heat. The SCA and burner form the heart of the Stirling Tactical Cogeneration System (STaCS) conceptualized in Phase I, and their combined performance will enable the STaCS to deliver a minimum 2.5 kWe net output at a minimum electrical efficiency of 20%. The proposed effort represents a substantial step forward in system integration as well as the introduction of cogeneration.
