Abstract
SBIR Phase I proposal for composite run flat tire insert that incorporates load carrying capability, vibration damping, and mine blast energy attenuation. Structural fiber reinforced composites provide lightweight stiffness and load carriage capability in molded design. Structural, thermal, vibration performance modeled using finite element methods. Modular design installs without special tools and can be retro-fitted to existing wheels and tires.
