Abstract

A key tenet of the 2018 National Defense Strategy calls for increased capacity, lethality, and survivability of the joint force in the future.  To meet this goal, one of the five priorities for the US Air Force is to "Develop and employ UAS for a wider set of missions in a broader set of threat environments".  To achieve this priority by imposing at least a 10 to 1 cost strategy on our adversaries using affordable mass will require lower cost materials and manufacturing processes, Triton Systems will be bringing a large-scale, high throughput commercial metal AM solution the US market.  We propose to provide the AF with the capability to rapidly manufacture armament systems at low cost.  We will eventually provide prototypes and small volume production.  We will continue to work with prime contractors of the AF to demonstrate the advantage of incorporating the technology into their production in larger volume to meet the ever increasing needs of the AF. Triton Systems Inc. proposes to use large scale additive manufacturing (AM) using non-proprietary, commercial powders.
