Abstract

Pranalytica will develop and provide an integrated target marker that includes marking capabilities at NIR wavelengths and out-of-band MWIR wavelengths, making it backward compatible with existing earlier generation imagers as well as with the newer imagers that provide critical advantage to warfighters by operating at wavelengths where the adversary is not likely to have access to appropriate imagers. Such a proposed solution will include target marking capabilities at NIR wavelength of 1.064 µm as well MWIR wavelengths of ~4.0 µm and ~4.6 µm. The multi-band target marker will be man portable, hand held, and will provide the necessary daytime and nighttime marking capabilities. By design, the proposed target marker will be reverse compatible with existing equipment for both US and Coalition forces with the ability to select which bands are turned on or delivered to whom. We will extend the MWIR marker technology, which we have already developed for SOCOM (PoyntIR-46 at 4.6 µm) and successfully demonstrated to function in a variety environmental conditions, including rain, fog, mid day sunshine in very dry conditions as well as at nighttime in cold weather below 32°F. The proposed multiband target marker will work in all weather and all relevant environments.
