Abstract
Modern signal-processing techniques are applied to the detection of arcs in direct-current (DC)-powered aerospace and ground equipment in this SBIR project. The Phase-I effort demonstrated the feasibility of a reliable technique for detecting both series and parallel arcs in DC and AC systems. The Phase-II effort will implement the technique in small, affordable units that can be installed in main- and branch-power circuits as well as in distributed subsystems such as actuator controllers. Operation in reduced-pressure environments will be demonstrated.
