Abstract
BY INTEGRATING THE POWER OF COMPUTER, INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN AND KNOWLEDGE PROCESSING TECHNOLOGIES INTO ONE SEEMLESS FUNCTIONAL OPERATING SYSTEM, IT IS NOW POSSIBLE TO DEVELOP AND IMPLEMENT AN INEXPENSIVE MICROCOMPUTER-BASED WORKSTATION. BY EMBEDDING THE HEURISTIC STRUCTURES OF INSTRUCTIONAL AND KNOWLEDGE PROCESSING ROUTINES INTO THE SYSTEM, AUTOMATION OF THE INTERSERVICE INSTRUCTIONALSYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT PROCESS IS NOW POSSIBLE. ADDITIONALLY, BY LINKING TO AN INTEGRATING MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL AND MANPOWER DATA BASES INTO THE SYSTEM PROVIDES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF VISUALKNOWLEDGE BASES WHICH CAN SUPPORT THE WEAPONS SYSTEM ACQUISITION PROCESS, THEREBY INTEGRATING IMPORTANT MANPOWER, PERSONNEL AND TRAINING FUNCTIONS.
