Abstract
The objective of the Tactically Ready Asset Condition Recorder or TRACR Phase II effort will be to continue the transfer of the Remote Readiness Asset Prognostic and Diagnostic System (RRAPDS) technology onto the Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missile system. Phase I illustrated the feasibility of the TRACR concept for THAAD missile platform. This successful effort, in addition to the on-going RRAPDS program and related technology advancements, will enable real-time access of source data thus increasing efficiency for mission planning and improving overall missile system performance. Phase II will continue the engineering system development including finalization of a Performance Requirements Document, detailed design, prototype construction, test, development of level I drawings and completion of a comprehensive Interface Control Document. Completion of Phase II will position the THAAD TRACR for Phase III competition wherein the product will be engineered for manufacture and a Low-Rate Initial Production would be accomplished. The benefits to be derived from implementation of a THAAD TRACR Phase II have strong endorsement from the THAAD Project Office. The results will significantly increase THAAD's reliability and demonstrate the feasibility of applying such health monitoring across other MDA systems hence reducing system operating and support costs and increasing reliability.
