Abstract

The objective of this project is to design a fractual object based image database system which enables video insertion into real time simulation systems. A cost/benefit analysis of the design will be performed to determine the utility of implementing the design in Phase II. Requirements for the Fractal Object Database System will be determined in consultation with the Sponsor and from interaction with commercial providers with simulation hardware and software. The fractal coding methodology which the Proposer has developed and commercialized for imagery will be extended to image objects. A test set of image objects will be extracted. A verification demonstration of the fractal object methodology to extract, code and render image objects will be provided. The final report will explain the fractal object methodology, the proposed fractal object database system and its application to simulation systems.
