Abstract
LEARNING ABILITIES IN MATHEMATICS AND THE SCIENCES ARE NOT MAXIMIZED BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF VISUAL INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS. THE IMPROVEMENT OF THESE SKILLS IS IMPORTANT BECAUSE BETTER SCIENCE AND MATH ABILITIES ARE NEEDED IN THE UNITED STATES IN ORDER TO KEEP UP WITH OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED NATIONS. OUR PROPOSED SOLUTION IS TO USE A NEW TECHNOLOGY, THE TOPOLOGICAL PANORAMA CAMERA, TO CREATE COST-EFFECTIVE, VISUAL LEARNING MATERIALS THAT WILL BE USED WITH COMPUTER-ASSISTED INSTRUCTION IN AN INTEGRATIVE PROGRAM IN MATH AND SCIENCE CURRICULUM. THE EXPECTED RESULTS OF THIS PHASE I STUDY, WILL BE A MODEL SET OF PHOTOGRAPHIC INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIALS TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH COMPUTER-ASSISTED INSTRUCTIONAL SOFTWARE WHICH WILL INTEGRATE MATH AND SCIENCE CONCEPTS. OUR RESEARCH TEAM IS AUNIQUE BLEND OF A VISUAL ARTIST, MATH AND SCIENCE CURRICULUMADVISORS, AND A COMPUTER PROGRAMMER. INNOVATIVE, VISUAL INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL PRODUCED BY THE TOPOLOGICAL PANORAMA CAMERA.
