Abstract
KDT INDUSTRIES, INC. PROPOSES TO DEVELOP A MICROCOMPUTER BASED SYSTEM THAT FACILITATES THE INTEGRATION OF COMPUTER MODELS RESIDING IN DIFFERENT SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE ENVIRONMENTS. THIS TOOL WILL REQUIRE NEITHER MODEL RECORDING NOR USER-CODED INTERFACES FOR INTEGRATING MODELS THIS PROPOSAL DESCRIBES KEY PHASE I RESULTS THAT HAVE LED TO A PROOF-OF-CONCEPT COMPUTER SYSTEM. THESE KEY RESULTS WERE CHOSEN TO 1) PROVE THE FEASIBILITY OF DEVELOPING MODEL/DATABASE INTEGRATION SOFTWARE AND 2) THE VIABILITY OF THE APPROACH SELECTED BY KDT FOR SYSTEM IMPLEMENTATION. THEPROPOSAL DESCRIBES PHASE II TECHNICAL OBJECTIVES AND PRESENTS A PLAN FOR ACCOMPLISHING THEM. THE SYSTEM METHODOLOGY DEVELOPED DURING PHASE I OF THIS PROJECT HAS A HIERACHICAL STRUCTURE OF SCENARIOS, MAPS, LINKS. SCENARIOS SPECIFY WHICH MODELS THE COMPUTER IS TO RUN AND THE LOGIC BY WHICH TO RUN THEM IN THE CORRECT ORDER, INCLUDING ITERATIONS. MAPS GROUP ALL LINKS AND ANY INTERACTIVE USER INPUTS REQUIRED FOR A SCENARIO TO EXECUTE A SINGLE OR SET OF COMPUTER MODELS. LINKS CONTAIN THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE SYSTEM TO BUILD INPUT FILES FROM DATABASES, OUTPUT FILES AND USER PROMPTS.
