Abstract
THE PHASE I PROPOSAL ISJFOR THE EXPLORATORY RESEARCH INTO MATERIALS FOR ERASABLE OPTICAL DISKS. THE MAJOR EFFORT IN PHASE I WILL BE: (1) THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BASIC MEDIA TEST STAND FOR TESTING SMALL MEDIA SAMPLES, (2) THE EVALUATION OF CANDIDATE MEDIA SAMPLES FROM VARIOUS RESEARCHERS IN THE FIELD AND (3) A FINAL REPORT WITH A COMPARISON OF TEST RESULTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS AS TO THE MOST VIABLE MATERIALS FOR FUTURE RESEARCH.
