Modern weapon system infrastructure requires large number of network nodes and devices across multiple domains to be timely and accurately configured. Any accidental or malicious alteration of system configuration could expose system vulnerabilities and cause disastrous harms of the complex weapon systems. Existing centralized solutions are extremely vulnerable to protect system configuration over a large, dispersed network of assets and components. Thus, it is in critical need for resilient and decentralized security solutions to protect configuration systems effectively and efficiently. To address this need, Intelligent Automation, Inc. (IAI) proposes to develop SecCM, a blockchain-based secure, resilient, and decentralized solution for weapon systems. The key innovation of this proposed solution includes the design and development of: (1) A decentralized blockchain architecture with distributed ledgers and smart contracts to intelligently form immutable ledgers for configuration system; (2 ) a distributed auditing system with consensus protocols and regulation verification features to rapidly validate and detect any malicious alternations of weapon system configuration.
