Abstract

Social media platforms have become staging grounds for social warfare. In order to counter anti American information attacks in Social Media, the military needs highly trained information warfighters. Warfighters require training capabilities to sharpen their tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to blunt information attacks in diverse areas of operation. Intelligent Automation, Inc. in collaboration with Dr. Jessy Li from The University of Texas Department of Linguistics, propose a novel solution for training warfighters, called Simulated Cyberwarfare Event-based Natural language Exercise Generation (SCENEGen). SCENEGen is a scenario management tool that will generate realistic and organically grown social network users and narratives for simulated information conflict scenarios. The key innovation is the incorporation of Dr. Li’s extensive work on longform and human-like natural language generation with IAI’s state-of-the-art social media data curation, analytics and training technology (www.scraawl.com).The proposed tool, SCENEGen, will incorporate the latest research in natural language generation (NLG) for on demand narrative generation. SCENEGen will generate consistent and coherent text by using a structured language generation process. Text will be colored with the personal emotional responses of each user. SCENEGen will provide incredible amounts of flexibility in generating realistic narratives for information operators using an easy-to-use web interface.
