AbstractIn our Phase I contract MSI developed and demonstrated a prototype of a Prognostic Health Management microchip module we call an Embeddable Prognostic Integrated Circuit (EPIC) We propose a Phase II program to develop and test a Developer Kit that represents the architecture of an embeddable prognostic integrated circuit, a system on a substrate. Our work plan includes system engineering, software development, computer aided design, hardware prototyping, integration and testing. Boeing Phantomworks will provide realistic engineering test laboratory bench testing. Successful completion of our Phase I goals will achieve Technology Readiness Level 4, ready to move to device manufacturing of an EPIC module. That is suitable for mounting on a circuit board in a LRC or in the backshell of a connector housing. Realizable Phase III commercialization opportunities have been identified. We have support of the Lockheed Martin avionics team . MSI plans to use the EPIC module on power supply circuit boards the AV-8B Engine Monitoring Unit and the AV-8B Crash Survivable Memory System. The EPIC circuit will have broad use in commercial and military applications for monitoring, diagnosing, and making remaining life predictions of Line Replaceable Components and other mission and flight critical electronic systems.
