Abstract

Currently, DoD relies on quality assurance engineers to manually inspect code for compliance. This process is not only time consuming for large and complex codebases, but also subject to human error. Moreover, this manual verification process only occurs after the software’s delivery to the customer, therefore incurring further schedule impacts to correct the issue before arriving at a compliant version. To solve this problem, Charles River Analytics proposes to design and demonstrate the feasibility of a Software Lifecycle Integrated Compliance Keeper (SLICK) that seamlessly integrates with the developer’s tool chain to automatically verify if code is compliant with established standards and notify the developer of compliance errors.
