Abstract
The 60 GHz frequency band possesses the potential for short range, wide bandwidth and stealthy communication. MaXentric’s ViFi-MESH is a V-band (60GHz) Vehicular mobile mesh network that allows fast moving vehicles to perform on-the-move command and control operations with high quality video, voice and data. ViFi-MESH overcomes the current limitation in power amplifiers by having an active directional antenna system in the RF front-end. It is able to meet the link budget requirement for range up to 100 meters while providing 360 degree azimuth coverage. ViFi-MESH is well suited for multi-path environment because of its mitigations at both the architectural level and waveform level. Its MAC protocol algorithm is able to provide reliable high throughput content at multiple-hop distance. With the use of directional antenna, it is also capable of improving the spatial channel utilization and immunity toward eavesdropping.
