Abstract

A polarization insensitive liquid crystal spatial light modulator is proposed as an alternative technology for currently deployed adaptive optic systems. Potential benefits of this approach include cost savings, weight reduction, lower power requirements, and improved performance. System response and polarization sensitivity are the two system parameters which will be investigated and optimized.
