THE NEW COMPUTER MEDIATED VIDEODISC SYSTEMS PERMIT THE TESTING OF PERFORMANCE. THE SIMULATION POSSIBILITIES WILL ALALLOW THE TESTS TO MEASURE CONCEPTS AT A HIGHER LEVEL THAN IS POSSIBLE WITH JUST PAPER/PENCIL ITEMS. SINCE DRIVERS TESTS TEND TO BE A LEARNING EXPERIENCE WITH LONG TERM REMEMBERR INGS IT IS HYPOTHESIZED THAT AN IMPROVED TEST WITH EMPHASIS ON SAFE DRIVING CONCPTS WILL IMPROVE HIGHWAY SAFETY.
