Abstract
Mission effectiveness depends heavily on hearing health. Studies have shown that prolonged exposure to high-level noise increases fatigue and decreases concentration, which increases the likelihood of errors. Furthermore, hearing loss due to noise exposure impairs communication and is a long-standing health issue for active-duty airmen and veterans, with a cost of $1.2 billion per year in treatment. Triton Systems, Inc. proposes a solution that fills a need in the Air Force for a cost-effective communications and hearing protection solution that provides superior noise reduction and speech intelligibility.
