Abstract
Triton Systems Inc. proposes to develop an acoustic source capable of directly exciting structural resonances in a wide variety of targets on or suspended from the seafloor. The proposed method will provide unprecedented classification and identification information to the Navy. This technology will be useful for identifying manmade objects (such as mines and unexploded ordnance (UXO)) in the presence of clutter by exploiting their structural resonances.
