AbstractnGimat proposed to combine ferroelectric barium strontium titanate (BST) thin film and MEMS switch technology to design and manufacture a low-cost, low-loss, millimeter wave highly tunable passband filter. A proprietary combustion chemical vapor deposition process will be used to grow the BST films. In Phase I, nGimat will design and fabricate the circuit, perform modeling and simulation, and build prototype tunable filters. In Phase II, we will further optimize the circuit design, scale-up the process, address reliability and packaging issues, and deliver prototype filters to the Air Force.
