Abstract
MILLITECH PROPOSES TO DESIGN A SENSOR TO BE USED FOR SATELLITE BORNE OBSERVATIONS OF PRECIPITATION, SEA SURFACE, AND ATMOSPHERIC SOUNDINGS. THIS SENSOR WILL COMPRISE A COMMON APERTURE ANTENNA AND A GAUSSIAN OPTICS FREQUENCY MULTIPLEXER WHICH WILL BE USED WITH LOW NOISE RECEIVERS IN THE FUTURE. THE USER WILL BE ABLE TO SCAN IN TWO ORTHO-GONAL POLARIZATIONS OVER ONE DECADE OF FREQUENCY AT BOTH MICROWAVE AND MILLIMETER WAVELENGTHS. IN THIS PROPOSAL WE HAVE OUTLINED THE APPROACH FOR DESIGNING A COMPACT BROADBAND FREQUENCY MULTIPLEXER TO MATE WITH A HIGH RESOLUTION ANTENNA, A DESIGN WHICH WOULD BE COST EFFICIENT BY ALLOWING MANY BANDS TO BE SIMULTANEOUSLY OBSERVED WITH ONE INSTRUMENT.
