Abstract
"We propose to take a structure, comprehensive, and multi-dimensional look at issues related to cognition, adaptive thinking, and performance under various environmental stressors. More particularly, we will investigate how these constellation of factorsapply to junior leadership performance and actual and potential growth, and how the results of this research can improve skills and leadership training. We believe the benefits for DoD and other potential uses can be significant. Greater understanding ofthe skill requirements of leadership and how to better select and train individuals for those skills is of great value particularly for those employed in industries or position of large responsibility with the potential for large losses. We think thereare many application domains available for the successful completion of this work."
