Abstract

Under this effort we propose an extensive investigation and analysis of the use of quantized rank order statistics to improve tracking of vehicles throughout move-stop-move cycles. During Phase II we intend to explore the further aspects of the problem.Foremost we hope to explore more realistic sensor data provided by Northrop Grumman under other programs. Additionally, we hope to study the use of target identification to aid in the track maintenance process. When targets can be identified as aparticular type, we can use this knowledge to aid the maintenance of a track. One aspect of this research will include the use of synthetic SAR data to train a simple moving target recognition algorithm. Techniques developed for comparing SAR images oftargets with their moving counterparts will be ideally suited for the moving target recognition process.
