AbstractThis project will develop a multi-asset Mission Planner and Controller (MPC). The MPC will decompose tasks into actions applicable to its available assets based on their platform models. The actions will be assigned to specific platforms, both manned and unmanned, in such a way as to minimize the total cost to the team while completing the tasks. Preferences and constraints from the operator will modulate the assignment process. Actions for unmanned assets will either be translated into their native language command language or executed by the controller using a Joint Architecture for Unmanned Systems (JAUS) compliant interface. Platform status information will be used to adjust existing assignments and guide new task assignments to ensure an acceptable and efficient workplan is in place at all times. Finally, this system will remain stable and robust while performing all of these operations in real-time.
