Abstract
This project will investigate the high speed modulation properties of monolithically integrated coupled-cavity VCSEL arrays with the aim of developing manufacturable, very high speed (>20GHz) directly modulated integrated laser arrays which have very low power dissipation (<2 mW per laser) for optical interconnects at the board and chip levels, and and for short-haul high-density optical communication applications.
