Abstract
THE PROPOSED INNOVATIVE RESEARCH IS TO DESIGN AND DEVELOP THE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) COMPONENTS NEEDED TO CREATEA DEDUCTIVELY AUGMENTED NASA MANAGEMENT DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM (DANMDS). PHASE I OF THE RESEARCH EFFORT WILL IDENTIFY THE AI COMPONENTS REQUIRED FOR SUPPORTING NATURAL LANGUAGE INTERFACE, DECISION-SUPPORT RULE BASE DEVELOPMENT, APPROPRIATE KNOWLEDGE REPRESENTATION SCHEMA AND SEARCH STRATEGIES, DISTRIBUTED DATA BASE ACCESS, AND INTERFACE WITHEXISTING NASA DATA BASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS. DURING PHASE IIOF THE RESEARCH, THE UNIQUE AI COMPONENTS WILL BE DESIGNED AND IMPLEMENTED, AND EXISTING NASA AI CAPABILITY WILL BE INTEGRATED WHERE IDENTIFIED AS APPROPRIATE.
