Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) continue to be the most significant threat affecting our troops today. Efficient electromagnetic capabilities that facilitate detection, identification, classification and geo-location of IEDs and associated subcomponents are critical. Nearly all IEDs utilized commercial electronic devices as triggering mechanisms. Examples include pagers, handheld radios, garage door openers and cordless telephones. This proposal will leverage state-of-the-art electronic device detection techniques to Detect, Identify and Geo-locate (DIG) potential IED trigger components through the efficient exploitation of target emissions.
