An OmniGuide fiber is a hollow-core fiber which employs a dielectric omnidirectional mirror to keep light confined to its core. These novel fibers are ideally suited for ultra-low loss optical transmission and for flexible delivery of high power lasers. Prior to and during our Phase I effort, we have developed a wide range of tools to simulate the performance of OmniGuide fibers and related structures. This Phase II proposal summarizes our software tool development and sets forth a program to develop a user-friendly, comprehensive, and integrated software package incorporating these tools, suitable for commercialization.
