Abstract
Here OptiMetrics Inc. proposes to develop an Information Architecture for the simulation of intelligence information, processes and sensors that are the components of C3I systems. That Information Architecture (IA) builds on the concepts of High Level Architecture (HLA) for DIS. It would provide the logical structure for the integration of existing and future intelligence simulations and for evaluating C3I Systems. The HLA provides for a Federation Object Model (FOM) that describes the objects and their attributes that are to represent the entities being simulated. For the Information Architecture the FOM will consist of an information simulation object model representing nuggets of information that define an entity or aggregations of entities. The Information objects (IO's) would include entity truth data, uncarrelated reports, fused reports and derived information. The IO's would also include hierarchical information objects representing information on individual vehicles and fused information on increasingly larger units up through Division size. A prototype of the proposed IO's will be defined as C++ objects. Phase II would include a demonstration using existing simulations to generate and manipulate the IO products. Intelligence collection and representation using the IA FOM and sensor simulations would be demonstrated as a stealth participant in an Intelligence intensive AWE. Near-term benefit is a new level of simulation for military C3I systems. Commercial applications anticipated include FAA and FHA analysis and simulation of traffic and communications. Long term applications range from communication systems planning through interactive entertainment.
