Abstract
RESEARCHERS ARE CREATING INNOVATIVE FINDINGS TO PASSIVE DAMPING AND ACTIVE VIBRATION CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES WHICH PLAY A MAJOR ROLE IN THE SUCCESS OF DESIGNS OF DYNAMIC STRUCTURES. UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIES EXIST WITH THE USE OF MODULES OR PATCHES INCORPORATING PIEZOELECTRIC MATERIAL AND MICROELECTRONIC INTELLIGENCE, ENABLING HIGHLY EFFECTIVE DAMPING AND VIRBRATION CONTROL. SUCH DISCOVERIES ALLOW FOR ADVANCE VIBRATION CONTROL TECHNOLOGY AND NOISE REDUCTION TO BE INCORPORTED DURING THE DESIGN PHASES OR RETROFIT TO SUCH STRUCTURES AS BUILDINGS, BRIDGES, AUTOMOBILE, MACHINES, AIRCRAFT, SPACECRAFT, AND SUBMARINES.
